Description
The performances, part of the Percursos pela Arquitetura project, are the creations of the young creators of FAÍCC - Advanced Training in Interpretation and Choreographic Creation, promoted by Instável - Centro Coreográfico: Mafalda Cardoso and Rita Ferreira, Sabrina Danielle Baranda and Mathilde Granier, and Janne Schröder and Nataly Bellomia. The space will not only influence the bodies, but will also be influenced by them. The result is three site-specific performances characterized by a symbiotic exchange between space and body. Instável is supported by the Portuguese Republic - Culture / Directorate-General for the Arts and the GDA Foundation.

Performance “Matéria em Suspensão” Creation and performance: Mafalda Cardoso e Rita Ferreira
In the suspended silence of the Ferreira da Silva Laboratory, bodies awaken dormant memories. ‘Matéria em Suspensão’ (Matter in Suspension) is a performance that listens to the space and dances with the traces of science, poetically reactivating the movements of knowledge. Between the sound of footsteps, breathing and excerpts from sound archives - scientific reports, recorded memories, voices from other times - a landscape is created where past and present intertwine. A sensitive choreography in which the body investigates, feels and transforms, inviting the audience to listen with all their senses.

Bodies that function, repeat, endure. Shaped by routines, expectations, and systems we no longer question. Somewhere between instinct and obedience, between inner impulse and external pressure, the body hesitates. Inside a space devoted to knowledge, doubt begins to emerge: what if the answers we seek are not the ones we want to find? What if we uncover something we’d rather not know?
