Description
Based on an old Mayan house, the project has developed into a carefully designed contemporary extension, establishing itself as a centre for community life. More than an administrative space, it houses facilities such as an auditorium, library and exhibition room, promoting civic participation, culture and proximity. The articulation between the pre-existence and the new design is done with balance and respect for the place. The choice of materials and careful construction result in an architecture that is simultaneously silent, expressive and identifiable. This building is thus a public space in the fullest sense, affirming architecture as an essential element of urban qualification.
