Description
The new building of the Porto Ballet School is the result of a solid desire and initiative by a dancer who is now a teacher, to reconcile dance teaching with a space that matches this artistic expression. The project, designed by Francisco Vieira de Campos, is absolutely designed for dance, but it is obliged to fulfil the new demands of an articulated education that is now a possible choice and, fortunately, within the reach of young dancers. It is a space that seeks to integrate with the city and the surrounding nature, with large windows facing outwards, lots of light and arches that pursue the perfection of movement. In fact, this building will itself draw attention to the way in which quality-designed space stimulates happiness and inspires, as the history of Ballet in Portugal is intertwined with the history of building a democratic country.
