Description
In the highest part of the city and magnificently placed at the Morro da Sé, this beautiful Jesuit church, Mannerist, built in the 16th Century, lives with a series of other things behind its grand façade: Sacred Art Museum and Maior Seminar of the Sé of Porto. The Museum has a modern intervention by architect Luís Cunha, and it contains beautiful pieces of religious art. The cells of the Convent, today rooms of seminarians, one after the other through the great corridor that interweaves and flows into mind-blowing balconies over the river. The visitors can move around these successive spaces. (Paula Santos e Ivo Poças Martins, OHP’17)
