Description
Built on the campus that has existed in the city of Maia since 1959, the Sonae Tech Hub is the most recent building of the Sonae Campus - the multinational company’s headquarters in Portugal - located in an area with essentially industrial activity. The building, designed to house Sonae’s technology teams, has 4 above-ground floors, mostly organised as open space, and 2 underground floors for parking. The main inspiration for the project was the theme of the binary code, of ‘zeros’ and ‘ones’, which gives shape to the technologies produced by the company itself. The result is a glazed building that stands out from the surrounding buildings, both in terms of its materiality and its eco-efficient construction. (Magda Seifert and Pedro Baía, OHP’23)
