Description
Built under the orders of António de Guimarães, Count of Bolhão, and the stage of sumptuous parties and balls of the Porto elite of the second half of the 19th Century, the Palace is characterized by an eclectic architecture and profuse indoor decoration, with marble, plaster, painting and woodwork. Public Interest Monument since 2010, this building was rehabilitated and expanded, housing today the school and theatre company of the Academia Contemporânea do Espetáculo [Academy of Contemporary Entertainment]. Visit the rooms of the Palace described by Portuguese writer Camilo Castelo Branco and the new auditorium.
