Description
When it comes to the field of rehabilitation of our built heritage, we should remember that it is not always necessary to demolish everything or maintain only the façade and build again its interior. In these houses what is proposed is a radically alternative approach where, with the exception of the new elements introduced with great precision, everything else is maintained: the wood structure, the plaster and wood work, but mainly the marks of the passing of time, the worn paint, woods and wallpaper. The visitors will be able to understand this ambiguity between complete rehabilitation or a surgical intervention. Even if it might seem simply like a nostalgic and romantic stance, rapidly one can refute the argument when we see that all this allows also considerable savings in construction costs.
