Description
Located in a residential area of Afurada, the house had been uninhabited for some years and the degradation caused by the passage of time disturbed the clear reading of the spaces that made it up. The improvised divisions, which informally divided the house into two dwellings, concealed the original and frank succession of communicating spaces, which may have served as the basis for its original floor plan. Through demolition and occasional constructions that didn’t interfere with the original layout, the reconstruction endeavoured to restore these axes and reinvent the daily life that inhabits its spaces. The most dilapidated area of the north-facing façade was altered the most: it was here that the new entrance door, the new kitchen and, in an area that was once outside, the master bedroom were installed. Above this room, the weak tile roof that had been built in the meantime was replaced by a terrace that once again provides an outdoor space for the house. (merooficina)
