Description
Built in 1890 in a dominant location in Vila Nova de Gaia, a short distance from the Atlantic Ocean, Graham’s cellars have magnificent views of the historic centre of Porto, on the other bank of the River Douro. The building has three levels: on the main level is the large ageing warehouse, on the lower level we have the main entrance (Rua Rei Ramiro) and the wine cellar area buried at the back, the upper level connects to the internal street where there is also a large storage area for maturing wine. The rehabilitation project for the ageing warehouse, carried out by architect Luís Loureiro+P06Design in 2013, aimed to give the existing building new uses, revitalise the existing ones and adapt it to new requirements, in a coherent whole and always with respect for the main activity carried out there - the ageing of Port wine.
