Description
For the design of this house, the high heritage value of the landscape relationship with the historic city centre of Porto was the focus of the project’s formalisation from the outset. The modest planimetric dimensions and strong regulatory constraints did not discourage a spatial investigation based on the articulation of the different levels, constructive simplification and the accentuation of transparency between interior and exterior. Fátima Fernandes and Michele Cannatà show us floors with different heights and shapes that project into the extraordinary landscape of the city’s historic centre and the final stretch of the urban part of the River Douro.
