Description
The Gramaxo Foundation, whose activity aims to promote local arts and culture, has its new building in the 17th century Quinta da Boavista housing and agricultural complex. Designed to display the Gramaxo family collection, this project organises several rooms for permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as a multipurpose room that can be used as an auditorium. Seeking to evoke the memory of the pre-existing building, the new construction occupies the existing built areas, although it takes on a different shape and volume. Also of note in this reference to memory is the projection of a pergola articulated with the temporary exhibition room and the auditorium. (Magda Seifert and Pedro Baía, OHP’23)
