Description

Maia’s Municipal Services Tower, Torre Lidador, is an emblematic building of the municipality and its dynamism, representing the start of a new cycle of progress and development. With the primary objective of installing municipal services, the Tower is a decisive milestone in a process of sustainable development that is unrivalled in our country. The Lidador Tower is a landmark in the city, 92 metres high, and at the time it was built it was the 5th tallest building in the country and the tallest outside the city of Lisbon, visible from any of the ten parishes in the municipality. The Tower represents a benchmark, not just geographically, but one that illustrates development, capacity for work and entrepreneurial spirit. It represents the transparency and openness of Local Government, the accessibility of Maia Town Hall to its citizens. It is an open and transparent workspace, inaugurated on 9 July 2001.
