Description
MASSLAB is an architecture, urban planning and creative laboratory founded in 2016 by Diogo Sousa Rocha, Duarte Ramalho Fontes and Lourenço Menezes Rodrigues, with offices in Porto and Lisbon. The multidisciplinary team is currently made up of more than 50 people of different nationalities. The projects developed are based on an approach centered on the factors that influence both people and the planet, exploring new ways of thinking and inhabiting space, with the aim of building a better future. From the outset, MASSLAB has defined itself as a collaborative practice, where ideas are tested, debated and experimented with. The Porto office was the starting point - a space that has always sought to reflect the way we work here: in a constant dialog between models, sketches and different ideas, coming from anywhere in the world. Today, this space is experiencing its third version: larger, more technologically equipped, but faithful to its identity. The informality is intentional, with exposed materials, communal tables and an open working environment. Both in Porto and Lisbon, the physical space of the offices functions as a living body and a laboratory in permanent testing, where architecture is as much a matter of design as of coexistence - and where everyday life is part of the creative process itself.
