En dehors / En dedans, concepts from classical ballet that mean “outward” and “inward”, is a visual diary that goes through the daily life of the Porto Ballet School. Conceived as an architectural experiment, the film observes how space and movement meet, resist and transform each other. The film explores the porous boundaries between the body and the building, between the fluidity of dance and the rigidity of structure, between precision and spontaneity. Large openings invite the world in, while interior windows promote transparency and sharing. Based on the routine of the students, teachers and parents, the film draws a sensitive map of the school, which appears not as an object, but as a living structure - inhabited, transformed and redefined every day.
